Hi! This is my first post here. Since few days, I am noticing inactive change in the behavior of my female dog to this dogbreedsfaq.com/european-dog-breeds/german-dog-breeds/ German dog breed. Actually, few weeks ago, my aunt came to our house and she stayed for 10 days with her male dog. In the beginning, both of our dogs were not behaving good with each other but later, they became friends. I can't say anything about mating but after the departure of aunt and her dog, we are noticing her less interest in food, playing activities and even her favorite toys. When I talked with my wife on this issue, she preferred to get the answer from online articles. I found this article about dog's depression but it doesn't specify the reason would be the separate with a mate or friend. What is your views on this situation? On the other hand, one of my friend is forcing me to visit vet because in his opinion, any medical problem could also be behind this inactivity. Have you ever gone through from this kind of situation? If yes, then what are your views on this?

I think you need to get her to a vet. If there is any chance that she could be pregnant then you need to know. There could also be other medical problems that you can't see. Any change in behaviour needs to be checked.
I think it highly unlikely she is depressed because of missing the other dog. She wasn't around him long enough to form that deep a bond. Dogs usually shut down out of illness or fear.
